Merry Christmas/Year in Review

With Christmas virtually upon us, and as a thank you to those who have supported the blog over the years or those who have shown interest in its new incarnation here over the last month, I thought I’d put up a full quality version of one of my favourite landscapes from this year for readers to use as a PC desktop.

I finally got to Mt. Maroon this year for a couple of walks and a climbing trip to Viewpoint Buttress. It is a stunning location and I’m sure I’ll be back next year.

I hope everyone has had a great year, with plenty of trips into the outdoors. What was your best achievement or favourite trip for the year? Leave me a comment below.

My favourite walk was probably the Cotswold Track on Mt. Maroon. Climbing wise, my proudest achievement was red-pointing Devils Dihedral at Frog Buttress, and my most memorable climbs were The Other Dimension and Rourke’s Rift at Girraween. Mainly because of the arctic like conditions that we did them in.

Bring on 2015 and more adventures.

  1. Mt Maroon is one I haven’t been to from that area. When it cools down, I’ll give it a visit. Beautiful picture! Best wishes for 2015. I hope it’s full of new and exciting experiences. Don’t lose too much skin on those climbs. 🙂

  2. That looks pretty spesh! Another one to add to the very long list. Hmmm… Favourite trip for the year? The couple of short hikes I did with the kids in The Tarkine were amazing, but I think my favourite has to be taking my lady up to Cathedral Peak to propose. Merry Christmas and happy New Year to you too mate!
